Beneath The Crag
The Village of Falcon’s Hollow is one of a select few settled areas on the small island country of Andoran. Until recently, the entire island was ruled over by the blue dragon tyrant Urlstaz. Urlstaz ‘protected’ the denizens of Andoran, and in exchange worked all of the settlements to the bone gathering metals, stone, and Darkwood and having them crafted into extravagant pieces for his pleasure. Eventually, a group of adventurers from the city of Almas rose up against Urlstaz, and attacked the tyrant at his lair in Droskar’s Crag, the volcano the island is believed to have been crated from. The story goes that the adventurers, led by now king Codwin the First, managed to trap Urlstaz in a great weighted net, and sent him toppling into the heart of the volcano. Now, Andoran is a free nation… for some. Codwin the First claimed rulership over the entirety of Andoran, and brought all of the heads of trade into his inner circle. Now, the trade companies answer only to the king, and currency is the law of the land. Falcon’s Hollow is no exception.
Falcon’s Hollow is located just to the south of the Darkwood forest, and is ruled almost entirely by the Andoran Lumber Consortium. Falcon’s Hollow exists merely as an outpost for the gathering of Lumber, and the Consortium controls all trade into, out of, and within the village of Falcon’s Hollow. Thuldin Kreed, the head of the Andoran Lumber Consortium, has been appointed acting governor of Falcon’s Hollow, and sees to it that the people are kept busy collecting lumber to be sent to Almas. Almost everyone in Falcon’s Hollow works for the A.L.C., including the town Magistrate, Vamros Harg, one of the very few halfling residents of the city. Notable exceptions to this rule include the town guard, led by Sherrif Deldrin Baleson, and the proprietor of the local apothecary, Roots and Remedies, run by a local herbalist by the name of Laurel.
